Sandia Anywhere helps you understand how to access Sandia remotely from within the U.S., depending on the device you’re using. Click your device type below to view your remote access options. IMPORTANT if you are or will be outside the US: International VPN connections are NEVER allowed. Always submit an International Travel and Hand Carry request before traveling with any Sandia equipment or a YubiKey. LOFT laptops are the only Sandia-owned computers you can take internationally.
Remote access options for your device type
HINT: Log on to Sandia Anywhere: Internal (intranet site) for detailed information on working remotely, plus how-to, task-based instructions for these remote access methods.
IMPORTANT Never plug your badge into your personally owned computer. Use only a YubiKey containing HSPD-12 or PIV-C credentials.
Connect to a DaaS virtual desktop
Connect to your DaaS virtual desktop via the VMWare Horizon client installed on your personally owned computer. See IT Connect for instructions.
Check Sandia mail
- Establish a DaaS session and open the Outlook desktop client.
OR
- Open and sign in Outlook/Office 365
- When prompted, authenticate with Microsoft Authenticator.
Join a Teams meeting
- Join the meeting via the Teams web app link in the invitation; OR
- Launch a DaaS session and join via the Teams desktop app
Open internal websites (no DaaS session needed)
Type the normal URL (if you know it), or start with INSIDE (formerly Techweb) to find what you need. When prompted, choose PIV-C or MS Authenticator.
Establish a VPN session
Connect to GlobalProtect VPN using your badge/PIV-C credentials. See Sandia’s VPN site for instructions.
Connect to a DaaS virtual desktop
With your Yubikey, connect to your DaaS virtual desktop via the VMWare Horizon client installed on your Sandia computer. See IT Connect for instructions.
Check Sandia email
Start your computer and open the Outlook desktop client.
Join a Teams meeting
Start your computer and open Teams desktop client.
Open internal websites (no VPN or DaaS session needed)
Type the normal URL (if you know it), or start with INSIDE (formerly Techweb) to find what you need. When prompted, authenticate with badge or YubiKey.
Connect to your DaaS virtual desktop (iPad recommended)
Install and configure the VMWare Horizon client on your iOS device. With the Horizon client connect to your DaaS virtual desktop with your YubiKey or HSPD-12 Mobile Credential.
Join a Teams meeting
Open the Teams app and join your meeting (audio only or audio and video).
Check Sandia email
Open the Outlook mobile app.
Access documents stored in OneDrive
Open the OneDrive mobile app.
Open internal websites
From your mobile browser, type the normal URL (if you know it), or start with INSIDE (formerly Techweb) to find what you need. When prompted, authenticate with Mobile Credential or MS Authenticator app.
